CDUL And Lusitanas Are The Big Winners Of The Portugal Rugby Youth Festival

The Portugal Rugby Youth Festival (PRYF), the greatest youth rugby tournament in Europe, ended this past Sunday afternoon with all the categories' finals.

In the boys’ U19 final, CDUL defeated Belenenses by 20-7. In the girls’ U19 final, the Lusitanas beat the Comité Regional do Centro by 7-5.

CDUL had another win in the boys' U17 category, beating Agronomia by 14-7 in the final. In the boys U15, Agronomia beat Direito by 7-0. Finally, in the boys' U13 category, it was Direito's turn to take home the trophy with a win over CDUL by 15-10.

In total, there were more than 130 rugby matches in the 13th edition of the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival, played in five fields at the Lisbon University Stadium. For António Cunha, Move Sports' CEO and the event's director, “this was a very important edition of PRYF, which we have been organising for 13 consecutive years. Having a full-fledged PRYF is very positive for Portuguese rugby and paves the way for the return of all international teams in 2022, whose presence contributes decisively to raising the level of our rugby and giving valuable international experience to our young players”.

In 2022, the 14th edition of the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival will resume its usual spring break schedule: the tournament will take place on April 9 & 10, in Lisbon.
